The tradition

What is a Plankowner?

In the Navy, a plankowner owns a plank of the ship's deck — a personal stake in the vessel and a standing place among her crew. The plank is the point: it's yours, and it marks you as one of the ship's company.

Become a Plankowner and you take a plank in CB Captains FC. You're not watching from the stands — you're part of the ship's company, with your name on the club you back and a stake in where it's headed.

A note on the tradition: the deck-plank custom is naval heritage we're proud to carry — a mark of belonging, not a claim of legal ownership. See the FAQ for exactly what your membership includes.

Plankowner FAQ

Do I legally own part of the club?

No — and we're deliberately clear about that. Plankowner is an honorary supporter membership, not a share in a company. It's not an investment: there are no dividends, no share price, and no financial return. What you get is recognition as one of the crew, real perks, and a say in the fun side of club life.

Then what does "Plankowner" actually mean?

It's borrowed from naval tradition, where a ship's crew each "own" a plank of the deck. For us it means you've signed on as crew and you're marked as such — your name on the manifest, your certificate, and your place among the Captains' supporters.

What's the "member vote"?

The fun stuff — things like kit designs, Player of the Month, or a matchday tradition. It's a genuine say in club culture. It is not a vote on company governance, finances, or legal decisions.

Does my membership renew?

Memberships run for a year. There's no automatic charge — when your year is up, you simply re-up if you'd like to stay aboard. No subscription to cancel, no surprise billing.

Can I sign up someone under 18?

Yes — the Deckhand tier is made for under-18 supporters. A parent or guardian must complete the membership on the young supporter's behalf.

Where does my money go?

Straight into running the club — players, matchdays, facilities, and community programs. It's support for the club you back, not a product with a payout.

I'm not local, or new to soccer — can I still join?

Absolutely. Plankowners can be anywhere. Plenty of the crew are discovering the Captains — and semi-pro soccer — for the first time. All you need is the want to be part of it.

Can my business get involved?

Yes — see Club Partners above, or send an enquiry and we'll share the partnership pack.
